Tour the Nation’s Capital with Congressman Ralph Norman’s Office

It is an honor to serve as your Representative for the 5th District of South Carolina in the United States Congress. I welcome you to visit with me in our Nation’s Capital and experience the history and culture of Washington D.C.  Our office routinely helps coordinate hundreds of individuals and groups from around the 5th district come to visit each year and would love to assist yours.  A few of the more popular visits include:

  • White House, where you can tour the East Wing and see the portrait of George Washington that First Lady Dolley Madison rescued during a fire.
  • U.S. Capitol, where you will be able to visit numerous locations including the Rotunda, the Old Supreme Court Room, and Statuary Hall and get passes to the galleries to see Congress in action.
  • Vietnam War Memorial, which has over 58,000 names of servicemen and women who gave their lives in the Vietnam Conflict inscribed on the memorial.
  • Bureau of Engraving, where you can take a walking tour through the gallery and see as dollars are being printed on the production floor.
  • U.S. Supreme Court Chambers, where you can tour public portions of the court or observe oral arguments as they are presented to the Justices.
  • Arlington National Cemetery, which is the final resting place for more than 400,000 active duty service members, veterans, and their families and where you can witness the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider.
  • Smithsonian Museums, including the National Museum of American History, where you visit the exhibit about The Star Spangled Banner: The Flag That Inspired the National Anthem.

All of these venues are either free or suggest a small voluntary contribution to visit. Just as a reminder, our office is able to provide tickets on a first come, first served basis. Please be sure to make your requests as early as possible, in order to maximize your chances of getting your requests met. If you, your church, your school or your group are considering a visit to Washington, D.C., please allow us the opportunity to make your visit as productive and memorable as possible.  Call 202-225-5501 and speak with Kimberly Hammond directly or email her at Kimberly.hammond@mail.house.gov.

Sincerely,

Ralph Norman
Member of Congress
