Border Security

Our immigration system is in desperate need of change. We must enact policies that end catch and release, eliminate chain migration, increase the security of our border, and ensure that legal immigration is the way individuals choose to enter our country.

While I believe many changes are needed, I remain a strong supporter of legal immigration. When individuals enter our country the right way, they bring talents and cultural diversity that help make our nation great.

What I will not accept is continuing to allow immigrants to enter our country illegally. Congress must fulfill our legislative duty and implement reforms that end policies that have allowed our borders to become porous. Some of the changes that need to be made include providing funding for border security, implementing mandatory E-Verify, and ending the diversity lottery. I will continue to work with my colleagues to find solutions to the issues plaguing our current immigration system.
