The 2017 Congressional App Challenge is now underway. Officially launched in 2015, this nationwide effort allows students to compete against their peers by creating an application or “app” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices. The challenge is an opportunity to recognize and promote innovation and engagement in coding and computer science.
Any high school student in the 5th Congressional District is eligible to submit one app on CongressionalAppChallenge.us. Please verify your district at here. Submissions will be accepted until 12:00 PM (noon) on November 1st, 2017.
The following is a summary of the requirements as a part of their entry to the Congressional App Challenge rules:
- A link to the Application Demonstration Video (no more than 4 minutes). Please note that your entry may be judged in its entirety based on this video. It is important to demonstrate the scope and quality of your application in this video. The participant should also describe how they created the app and what they learned.
- An individual may only appear on one entry, either alone or as part of a team.
- The app may cover any topic but must be original and appropriate in content.
Note: Only one student needs to submit an app for their team. If the student is submitting their team’s app, they should put “Team Project” after the title and list their teammates’ names at the end of the Description.
You can submit your app here.
