Passport Requests and Expeditions

Passport expedition requests have not let up for months in my Rock Hill office. The numbers are still through the roof!

Summer is over but holiday travel is right around the corner, and spring break won't be far behind that. If you're planning ANY international travel it is better to plan ahead than be left on pins and needles or worse, cancel.

** Remember: For travel to many counties, the expiration date on your passport needs to be at least six months away! **

Routine processing for both new passports and renewals can take up to 14 weeks, according to the State Department. Even paying extra to have your passport expedited can still take 10 weeks. So you’ll want to consider that before booking any travel requiring a passport. (Adult passports are valid for 10 years once they've been issued.)

If you're in a rush to get or renew a passport, we may be able to help move things along at the State Department depending on the circumstances. But every situation is different and ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEES can or will be made concerning the date by which your application will be processed by the State Department, or the date by which your issued passport will arrive.

If you are a constituent of South Carolina’s 5th congressional district and have questions about your passport, please contact my Rock Hill office at (803) 327-1114. (If you live outside of South Carolina’s 5th district, please visit https://www.house.gov/representatives to find your Member of Congress.)
