Congressman Norman Introduces Resolution to Censure Rep. Maxine Waters

Washington, D.C. –  Today Congressman Ralph Norman (SC-05), along with six original co-sponsors, introduced a House Resolution to censure Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-43) for her divisive comments this past Saturday at a rally in California.

Congressman Norman has released the following statement:

"The recent rhetoric coming from Rep. Maxine Waters, and the left, is fueled with hatred, dangerous, and downright unacceptable. She shouted to a group of people to “create a crowd and… push back on them…and then tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” to individuals that have differing political viewpoints.

“The fact that Congressman Steve Scalise was shot – and nearly killed – this time last year for being a Republican, while playing baseball, is exactly why these comments by Rep. Waters are so dangerous. What does this say about our country? This only exacerbates the issue, and deepens our political divide.

“Though she also mentioned she has “no sympathy for [those] people”, I certainly hope she will reconsider her comments and offer a public apology.”

The House Resolution can be found here.
