Heads up y’all

If you haven’t already, make sure you’re getting your REAL ID in time for the 2025 deadline. Starting May 7th, you’ll need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (or another approved ID like a passport) to fly within the U.S. or enter federal buildings.

This isn’t just a regular driver’s license! REAL IDs have added security features that meet federal standards, and they’re a little different from your usual state-issued IDs. Make sure your ID has a gold star in the top right corner.

What you need to do:

1. Check your ID: Is it REAL ID-compliant? If not, you'll need to visit your local DMV.

2. Gather required documents: You'll need proof of citizenship, proof of residency, and your social security number.

3. Make an appointment: The lines can get long, so it’s a good idea to schedule ahead.
