When he heard the cry for help, he didn't look around, hoping someone else would step up. He was off-duty, but that didn't even cross his mind. There was no hesitation of doubting of his own ability to help — he just knew what needed to be done.
And he did it. This is Officer Pierre King of the York Police Department.
Someone he didn't even know at the time is alive today because of his heroic actions, which embody everything we value in our law enforcement officers. It was a honor to recognize him last night at the York City Council meeting.
