Congressional Gold Award

For America's youth, one of the highest recognitions for service and achievement is called the Congressional Award.

And the pinnacle this award is the Gold Medal, which takes at least two years to complete and requires a minimum of (A) 400 hours of voluntary public service, (B) 200 hours of personal development, (C) 200 hours of physical fitness, and (D) 5 days of expedition / exploration. It's no easy feat!

This year, our district had THREE gold medal winners. A big congratulations are in order to:

🏅 Garrett May of Fort Mill
🏅 Lucas Moyon of Rock Hill
🏅 Gunnar Hensley of Rock Hill

These young men have been through an incredible journey, and it was a honor to present them with their gold medals at very special ceremony last week in Washington, D.C.
