Happy Constitution Day

Washington, D.C., September 17, 2019

It was the summer of 1787 when 55 delegates from 12 of the 13 original states converged on Philadelphia for the Constitution Convention. Their average age: 42 years old.

Those delegates spent the next 115 days working on the framework for our new government, and 41 were present when their work was finally complete.

On September 17th of that year, 39 signatures were applied to the greatest political document ever written, including one from an ailing delegate whose name was signed by a colleague.

History was made 232 years ago today. Happy Constitution Day!
