How AWESOME is it that part of the World Series will be played in Georgia this coming weekend, after what the “woke” cancel culture did to that state recently?
This is so rich.
Remember the phony outrage when the Georgia state legislature decided to improve their election laws last spring? Remember how many in the Democratic party and mainstream media tried to make us believe that enhanced election laws were somehow “racist”? (See my post back on April 6th for a breakdown of these claims.)
Remember how the 2021 Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game was supposed to be played in Atlanta this past July? But remember how the woke mob pressured MLB to move the game because of Georgia’s election integrity efforts?
Remember the spineless decision by the MLB to embrace the cancel culture and move that event to Denver? The All-Star Game would have been a major event worth tens of millions of dollars for Georgia, its businesses, and its countless workers & their families. Instead, they all became political pawns.
Well, a HUGE congratulations are in order to the Atlanta Braves for clinching the MLB National League pennant last night, and punching their ticket to the World Series. This is fantastic news.
Since the World Series games are played in the stadiums of the participating teams, they can’t move Atlanta’s games elsewhere. (Although I’m sure we’ll soon see media coverage of efforts to try.) As much as the MLB All-Star game would have meant to Georgia, hosting three games of the World Series in Atlanta represents a much bigger haul.
Regardless of whether the Braves win or lose the Series, this is huge symbolic win over juvenile "wokeness" and the cancel culture.
