Not a week goes by where I don’t become more disheartened at our nation’s PUBLIC schools. I’m not knocking the hard-working teachers. Instead, I’m taking aim at the arrogant wokeness that’s permeated boards & administrations.

It’s one gut punch after another, and I’m tired of it! The parents I’m hearing from are tired of it too.

This week, for example, Chicago schools became the latest in what seems like a national trend to eliminate gender-specific restrooms at schools, telling students to just use whatever restroom “aligns with their identity or expression.” These are children!

Closer to home, we had one mother tell us that on the first day of class this year, teachers asked her elementary school child what her "preferred pronouns" were. In other words, whether her daughter wanted to be referred to as she, he, or some other gender neutral or non-binary pronoun.  In elementary school!

Even if you have a strong stomach, I would NOT recommend doing a Google Image search for a book called “Gender Queer: A Memoir.” (Warning: this is vulgar and explicit material.) Until recently, that book was literally available in the libraries of three local high schools. At least until Gov. McMaster got involved following parent outrage.

From elements of Critical Race Theory all the way to parents being labeled as “domestic terrorists” for speaking out at school board meetings, I’m truly worried about the state of our nation’s public schools.

Ultimately SCHOOL CHOICE is what needs to happen. And not just a choice of government-run schools. Instead, let tax dollars for education follow the child, and let parents choose from among ANY accredited school, whether public or private.

I know there are a many excellent public schools. But for those children who are trapped in a failing school, or one consumed with liberal wokeness, it’s HORRIBLE to force them to stay simply because their parents may not be able to afford a private education.

GIVE THEM A CHOICE!! It’ll make our entire education system stronger.
