Today, we honor Martin Luther King Jr., who dedicated his life to ending racial segregation through nonviolent means. He became the face of the Civil Rights movement and to this day, his work continues to inspire the nation. Because of his legacy, this day is recognized as one of two designated National Day of Service holidays during the year.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr, I encourage everyone to find some way to serve your local community. Volunteering, mentoring, serving a local charity, or even running for elected office - there are many ways we can serve others.
"Everybody can be great because everybody can serve." - Dr. Marin Luther King, Jr.
Happy MLK Day!
