Do you guys know how many federal agencies are STILL on hyper-sensitive lock-down mode over Covid? Where large numbers of their employees are still teleworking from home, despite being at an agency whose processes and systems were built around an office environment?
Among the worst are the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and USCIS (the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). Response times for those agencies and others have been abysmal. It’s not right. Those are agencies in the Executive Branch of government, under President Biden’s control.
The Legislative Branch is no better. Look at the House of Representatives, for example, which is still sending out bulletins encouraging “maximal telework posture” to reduce “in-office activities to the maximum extent possible.”
Just stop. Enough already. Take care of those who are vulnerable. Everyone else needs to get back to normal employment.
I’m confident this “posture” in the House of Representatives will soon be fixed shortly after November’s election. As for the Executive Branch of government, earlier this morning I co-signed a letter (below) to President Biden along with 38 other Members asking what the status is of these agencies, and what the plan is to get folks back to work. This has gone on long enough.
