It's a great day for South Carolina veterans! In just a moment, Governor Henry McMaster is expected to sign the Workforce Enhancement and Military Recognition Act into state law. This will exempt the retirement income of our military veterans from state taxes.

Back in February, I led a joint statement in support of this effort with every member of the South Carolina delegation to Congress, including Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Tim Scott, Rep. James Clyburn, Rep. Joe Wilson, Rep. Jeff Duncan, Rep. Tom Rice, Rep. William Timmons, and Rep. Nancy Mace.

I'm thrilled to see this come to fruition. Great work by the South Carolina state legislature and Gov. McMaster.
