Over the past several weeks, our office has heard from families and small business owners across South Carolina who are frustrated. They supported the One Big Beautiful Bill because it made President Trump’s tax cuts permanent and allowed working Americans to keep more of what they earn. I was proud to vote in favor and deliver that relief in Washington.

But here at home, South Carolinians are not seeing the full benefit.

The South Carolina General Assembly has yet to conform our state tax code to the new federal law, delaying meaningful relief for families already feeling the squeeze of inflation.

Washington did its job. It is time for Columbia to do theirs. I call on the General Assembly to adopt the updated federal tax code so South Carolinians can receive the full tax relief they were promised.
