Today, March 25th, we recognize National Medal of Honor Day, a time to honor the brave men and women who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in defense of our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love of country represent the VERY BEST of America. I’m proud to share that Congress has passed my legislation to award the Medal of Honor to Major James Capers Jr., a true American hero whose extraordinary leadership and valor during the Vietnam War exemplify what this honor stands for. Now, we look to the President to sign this into law and finally give Major Capers the recognition he has long deserved!! This is about doing what’s right, honoring service. And never forgetting those who put everything on the line for our freedom. |
