Sharia Law has no place in the United States of America. It is incompatible with the very foundation of our nation, our Constitution, our freedoms, and the values that generations of Americans have fought to defend. Sharia is not just a different legal system, but a political ideology masked by religion. That’s why I am proud to stand with fellow conservatives in the Sharia Free America Caucus to STRONGLY oppose any effort to bring Sharia into our country.

Why do we stand so resolutely against Sharia? At its core, adherence to this ideology means opposition to freedom of speech. It punishes dissent. It condemns the practice of other religions. It undermines the dignity and equality of women. And in many cases, it has been used to justify practices like child marriage and the suspension of basic human rights. That is NOT who we are as Americans.

We are a nation built on individual liberty, religious freedom, and equal justice under the law. Our system is rooted in the idea that man is born with certain inalienable rights, not confined to a religious legal code imposed on society.

We’ve seen what happens when extremist interpretations of Sharia take hold. From the horrific attacks carried out by Al-Qaeda on September 11, 2001, to the brutality of ISIS, to the ongoing persecution of Christians in places like Nigeria, these are not abstract concerns. Extremist adherents of Sharia have shown just what can come from this ideology if we reject the very freedoms we cherish.

While our country is under siege from mass immigration permitted by the Biden admin, we ought to be vigilant. If Sharia succeeded, our flourishing United States of America would more closely mirror those countries in the Middle East that conform to Sharia. We can never let that happen. 

America is a sovereign nation. A free nation. A constitutional republic under God.
