Just when you think Democrats couldn't possibly scrape any more off the bottom of the barrel…

For nearly three years they pursued the false narrative that President Trump somehow colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.  When that effort ended up being a failure, they looked around and asked, "What's next?"

Along comes a whistleblower who claims that during a phone call back in July, President Trump used U.S. military aid to extract a "quid pro quo" from the Ukrainian President for a political favor.  In a stunning display of partisanship, Democrats immediately called for a formal impeachment inquiry without even bothering to wait for the actual transcript of the call, or the whistleblower's complaint, to be released.

Within hours we learned the whistleblower wasn't even privy to the call, and “was not a direct witness to most of the events described.”  When a transcript of the actual call itself was made available shortly thereafter, what did it show?  Well, it certainly did NOT show President Trump saying that military aid from the U.S. was contingent upon Ukraine delivering a political favor.  (In fact, even the Ukrainian President came out in a press conference earlier this week to say that wasn't even implied.)

Yet did that give Democrats reason to pause?  Unfortunately not.  Immediately their attention shifted to anything else that might help justify their cries for an impeachment inquiry.  Other phone calls, other meetings, etc.  Things devolved even further today at a hearing where Democrats tried to fault the Director of National Intelligence over his handling of the complaint.

Folks, they're not even trying to hide it anymore.  We're at the point now where a mere ACCUSATION is all it takes for Democrats to call for impeachment.  That’s a sad place for us to be as a nation.  As I said earlier this week, even with all that's been accomplished over the last 2½ years, imagine how much further along our country would be if they weren’t actively trying to bring down our President.
