Restoration of Rank for Navy SEAL Eddie GallagherI received a very kind text message earlier this evening from Andrea Gallagher, the wife of Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher. I was waiting for the White House to break this news, and that happened just moments ago... Earlier today, President Trump restored SEAL Gallagher's rank to that of Chief Petty Officer, the rank he held prior to being prosecuted for war crimes. Many people, including me, felt he had been unfairly charged and treated poorly while awaiting trial. I fought hard, along with several others, to ask President Trump to intervene and have him moved to less restrictive confinement while his trail played out. Chief Gallagher was recently acquitted on all of the most serious charges, and tonight I am thrilled that his rank has finally been restored. (See links below.)
