Some good news coming out this morning to help ease the burden on taxpayers during the pandemic.
The IRS has now extended the tax FILING deadline from April 15th to July 15th. Earlier this week, the PAYMENT deadline to remit any federal taxes you may owe was extended to July 15th, but you still had to file (or at least file an extension) by the traditional April 15th deadline.
With today's news, however, you now have until July 15th to both file and pay. With that said, if you overpaid federal income taxes last year and anticipate receiving a refund, the sooner you file, the sooner you'll receive your refund.
If you need assistance or are having trouble with the IRS, as always please don't hesitate to contact my Rock Hill Office at 803-327-1114.
