Offsets, Sunsets, and Budget Caps

Because lives and public health are at stake during this unexpected crisis, the federal government will need to spend well over $1 trillion in response to COVID-19. That's on top of our $23 trillion debt, which grows by more than $100 million every hour, day and night.

Let's be clear: we HAVE to do what needs to be done, and our nation WILL get back on its feet again. But we are on a collision course with fiscal ruin if we cannot get our federal spending and debt under control. Future generations are at stake, as is the ability for our government to respond the next time an unforeseen crisis hits.
