"District Work Period"
Washington,
July 27, 2020
Check out the House of Representatives’ schedule for August. “District Work Period” is code for “Not in Washington.”
Many of you probably know that during normal times, August is typically a recess month for Congress. But we are not in normal times! Given all that Congress should be hyper-focused on during the middle of this pandemic, being out of session for the ENTIRE MONTH is inexcusable. Now don’t get me wrong: there is plenty for me to get involved with back home in South Carolina, and I cannot wait to take FULL ADVANTAGE of this opportunity... Nevertheless, despite the blessings of being back in the district for an entire month, it is dumbfounding to me that House Leadership has still not canceled the August recess. |
