Op-Ed on Healthy Skies Act

Washington, D.C., August 12, 2020
Earlier today, Fortune published an op-ed I wrote with Congressman Ted Budd on the Healthy Skies Act, our new bill in House of Representatives that would create an experimental trial program to take passenger temperatures at certain TSA checkpoints.
We know a fever is one of the more common symptoms of COVID. Temperature screenings will not catch every infected passenger before boarding a plane, but they could reduce that number.

Ultimately, the purpose of this bill is to help Congress and health officials better understand the degree to which TSA checkpoints could serve, in some capacity, as a means to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and future pandemics.
