A Final Note on the USPS

True to form, Democrats have manufactured a crisis where none exists. They've willfully mis-characterized what's happening at the Postal Service. They've intentionally taken facts out of context. They rushed to pass a misguided bill in the House on Saturday before even allowing the Postmaster General to testify before the House Oversight Committee today. And if all that weren't bad enough...
Earlier this morning, one Democrat from Tennessee even tried to imply that the Postmaster General may have committed felony crimes. It's all political.

Here were a few of my questions for the Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy, at the House Oversight Committee a little while ago. And if you missed my earlier post where we went through each myth about the Postal Service, click here to find that important information.

I'll say this one final time: While the USPS has problems that Congress must address, those problems are NOT threatening this year's election. (A) The Postal Service SHOULD be taking steps to improve its operational and fiscal performance. And (B) the only thing the USPS has warned about is that election-related mail needs to be sent with enough time to meet their own guidelines for delivery.
These things are just common sense, not some crime or conspiracy as Democrats would have us believe.

The Democrat's idea of Postal Reform is going nowhere in the Senate. My hope is that after the election, Congress will dig into meaningful reform to ensure the USPS will be viable for the long-term.

For now though, we're moving on.
