No Way To Treat Our Afghan Interpreters

There is no excuse for this. At all. Two things are certain to happen following President Biden’s decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.

First, Taliban terrorists will soon take control of important sectors of that nation once again – that’s already happening. And second, every person they find who helped our nation along the way will be mercilessly SLAUGHTERED. Along with their families.

This includes thousands of Afghan language interpreters who helped us. For 20 years, our military forces serving in Afghanistan have relied heavily on these Afghan interpreters to help our English-speaking soldiers communicate with the people of that nation.

Those interpreters risked their lives – and the lives of their family members. Everyone knew that if the United States pulled out, the Afghans who helped our military would be among the first to be butchered by the Taliban. So it is INEXCUSABLE that Biden would withdraw our forces without a decisive plan to safely extract those Afghans interpreters who helped us.

Of all the logistics that should have been handled beforehand, this was among the most important. It wasn’t until late this (Wednesday) morning that the Administration announced it will begin evacuation flights… in late July.

Sadly, that may be too late for many.
