TONIGHT at 6:00 PM, I’ll be hosting a live telephone town hall. Toll-free (888) 886-6603 is the phone number to call at 6 PM if you’d like to join and haven’t registered for us to dial out to you. If you missed one of my seven in-person town hall events a few weeks ago, this is another great opportunity to find out what’s happening in Congress.
For those who have registered on my website to be automatically called at the beginning of this event, we’re “blast dialing” many thousands of phone numbers right at 6 PM. Some phone companies see our mass influx of calls and flag our number as “possible spam.” But you’ll know it’s my tele-town hall because your caller ID should read (803) 327-1119.
We have a lot to cover tonight, including the renewed immigration crisis, the President’s botched withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan, inflation, federal spending and national debt, plus other important issues. I need to wrap up by 6:50(ish), but plan on taking questions from as many callers as time will permit.
Three more quick notes:
First, if the technology cooperates, tonight’s call will be simulcast here on my Facebook page. The livestream should start a few minutes before 6 PM. However, I won’t be able to see or respond to comments posted on Facebook. So if you have a question to ask, please join by phone.
Second, there will be thousands of constituents listening on this call, which is fantastic. The flip side, however, is that there will be many more questions than I’ll have time to answer. So if you have a question that I can’t get to during the tele-town hall, PLEASE leave a message at the end of the call – with your contact information – and I guarantee we’ll get back to you with a response.
Third, if you have a question but prefer not to ask publicly, that’s no problem. For assistance with any federal department or agency, please call my congressional office in Rock Hill at (803) 327-1114. Or for questions about legislation, policies, or my votes in Congress, my Washington, D.C. office can help at (202) 225-5501. You can also reach through my website by clicking "Contact" in the menu above.
