"Safeguard the American People, Our Homeland, and Our Values"

The TSA at airports is part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The sole mission of DHS is to “safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.”
That's it. That's their job.
So why would DHS implement policy changes that permit LESS invasive screening procedures for transgender-passengers? Are they any less of a threat than everyone else? Why would you do that?!
This and other misguided policy changes were recently announced by DHS. We're facing threats from every direction, and it is bewildering to see this agency seemingly focused more on gender ideology than its core mission.
