Another "Continuing Resolution"

Once again, Congress is set to kick the can down the road on our spending bills.  Another “Continuing Resolution” passed the Senate earlier today and is expected to be voted on in the House shortly. This one extends current discretionary funding into early March with no meaningful changes to the amount our government is spending, or what that money’s being spent on.

You all know I’ll be a HARD NO when the House votes shortly.  For two main reasons:

First, we’re $34 trillion in debt. I’m simply not voting to continue with the status quo when it comes to spending. We need responsible cuts now!

And second, our southern border is still wide open, with hundreds of thousands of encounters every month by our Border Patrol. Remember: many of those apprehended are simply processed and then released into the interior of the United States. And these numbers don’t account for the countless number of illegal migrants who get through undetected.

This President has completely failed the American people and failed in his sworn responsibilities when it comes to the border.  Yet there’s NO REAL EFFORT by others in Congress – especially Democrats but also a few Republicans – to force Biden to secure the border.

I’m not alone in my opposition to today’s continuing resolution.  But it will likely pass with more support from the Democrats, who of course have no desire to reduce spending despite us flying off a fiscal cliff. Shameful.
