Today, I want to proudly congratulate retired U.S. Lt. Col. Wesley F. Walker on the rededication of Range 14 at Fort Jackson in his name. This honor is well-deserved and long overdue for a man who has dedicated his life to serving our nation with distinction and unwavering commitment.
Let’s be clear: The decision to strip Lt. Col. Walker’s name from Range 14 under the Biden Administration was a misguided move that NEVER should have happened!! Lt. Col. Walker’s service, sacrifice, and contributions to our military are beyond reproach and deserve recognition, not removal.
I also want to commend Pete Hegseth for sending in a powerful video of support during the ceremony. His words were a reminder of what true leadership and patriotism look like, and I know his support means a great deal to Lt. Col. Walker and all who respect his service.
Fort Jackson made the right call by reinstating Lt. Col. Walker’s name on Range 14. This dedication is a testament to his lasting impact and the countless soldiers who have benefited from his leadership and commitment to excellence.
Thank you, Lt. Col. Walker, for your years of sacrifice and service!! Your legacy will continue to inspire generations of soldiers who will train at Range 14 for years to come.
