But Nothing

It is truly mind-blowing to listen to Democrats’ reaction to last week’s elimination of a murderous terrorist. Statements like: “Yes, Qassem Soleimani was a terrorist but…”

❌ …but it might cause Iran to retaliate
❌ …but we didn’t have a right to strike him on Iraqi soil.
❌ …but we don’t know how imminent the attacks on our troops would have been.
❌ …but President Trump didn’t let Democrat leadership know ahead of time.

BUT NOTHING! President Trump had a responsibility to preemptively act under the War Powers Resolution, and I thank God that our Commander in Chief isn’t afraid to unleash the raw fury of our military on those who seek to harm our nation or troops.

Nobody disputes the fact that Qassem Soleimani was among history’s worst. In fact, even the Obama administration tagged him as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” back in 2011. (So that’s saying something.)

Soleimani’s purpose in life was to travel throughout the Middle East organizing proxy armies that served the terror arm of the Iranian regime. He was directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. He was also responsible for countless strikes on American assets, the deaths of over 600 U.S. troops, and the recent attack on our embassy in Iraq.

Soleimani was taken out shortly after landing in Iraq. We now know his reason for being there was to coordinate rocket strikes on more than 5,000 American troops based in Baghdad. We also know the President’s decision to dispatch Soleimani was less about what that terrorist had done in the past and more about thwarting yet another attack on our troops.

I’m thankful President Trump made that call. Good riddance.
