Good News on the Border Wall

Earlier this week, a federal appeals court ruled that President Trump can proceed with plans to use military construction funds for the much-needed wall along our southern border.

If we're being honest, properly funding a wall should have been more of a legislative priority when Republicans controlled both the House and Senate. With the ebb and flow of political priorities, however, it unfortunately didn't get done back then.

And of course it has NO chance with Democrats now in control of the House. Needing to find ways to curb the crisis along our border, the President elected to use some military construction funds to build portions of the wall. This sent the left into a tailspin, of course, and they found a lower court willing to block this action by the President.

Anyway, on Wednesday the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals allowed the use of these funds to continue while they work toward a final ruling on the merits of the lower court's decision. That's emblematic of how the appeals court will likely rule, especially given that the Supreme Court already affirmed the President's authority on a related case last summer.

As I've said repeatedly, legal immigration has countless benefits to our nation. But most of us are sick & tired of the human trafficking, gang activity, narcotics, and host of other problems that are directly attributable to *illegal* immigration. We have a right to know who (and what) comes into our nation, and I fully support the President's efforts to secure our southern border.
