The Homeland Security Committee handles legislation and oversight related to U.S. security, including counterterrorism, border security, cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, transportation and maritime security, as well as emergency preparedness.
Rep. Norman issued the following statement on Tuesday:
"Across the world and within our own borders, there's simply no shortage of dangerous threats we must face head on. I would argue the single most important role of our federal government is to guard against those threats in order to protect American lives and liberties. That's why I'm honored to have been chosen to serve on the Homeland Security Committee. I want to thank Ranking Member John Katko (R-NY) for his leadership, and I look forward to the important work that lies ahead of us."
Additionally, as he did during the 116th Congress, Rep. Norman will continue to serve on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform during this 116th Congress.
