Rep. Norman Introduces Healthy Skies Act for Study on Passenger Temperature Screenings at TSA Checkpoints

| Posted in Press Releases

On Thursday, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) introduced the Healthy Skies Act in the House of Representatives, along with Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) and Rep. John Larson (D-CT). This bill will require the Transportation Security Administration ("TSA") to conduct a limited experimental trial program to check passenger temperatures before those passengers are allowed to proceed through airport security. Und... Read more »

Democrats Are Nowhere to Be Found

| Posted in Blog

You'd be hard pressed to find even one elected Democrat willing to stand up lately for our police. Or publicly oppose the recent violence around our nation. It's not convenient to their narrative right now. My message to them is simple: Democrat leadership in the House and Senate receive a protective police detail. If those Democrats in leadership are unwilling to support our law enforcement comm... Read more »

Crippling Future Generations

Last month, your federal government spent $864 Billion more than it took in, setting a monthly deficit record. (This is according to the Wall Street Journal and dozens of other publications.) We are now over $26 TRILLION in debt. Washington doesn't have a revenue problem; the Treasury takes more than enough of your hard-earned money. Instead, Washington has a spending problem, and it's going to C... Read more »

Promoting Safety and Security

| Posted in Blog

To help promote safety and security, I’ve signed on as a co-sponsor to two excellent bills in the House. The first piece of legislation will put a hold on federal funding to local governments that allow these so-called “autonomous zones” within their jurisdictions. (This is H.R. 7285.) Seattle is a prime example of this nonsense. There, a six-block radius was essentially confiscated by anarchists,... Read more »

Another Huge Win for Religious Liberties

| Posted in Blog

Another HUGE win for religious liberties from the Supreme Court was announced earlier this morning. In a 7-2 decision, the Court upheld that employers who had religious or moral objections to the Obamacare birth control mandate were, in fact, entitled to exemption from that rule. This was a case involving the Little Sisters of the Poor, which is a Catholic ministry that serves the elderly poor. T... Read more »

What's More Dangerous During a Pandemic?

| Posted in Blog

Is attending Church during a pandemic more dangerous than attending a protest? Before places of worship throughout Washington, D.C. were even allowed to partially re-open, the mayor of that city was actively encouraging people to gather and demonstrate in large crowds for protests and demonstrations. The "right of the people peaceably to assemble" is explicitly guaranteed in our First Amendment. I... Read more »

Cultural Rot

There were so many people MURDERED in Chicago this past weekend that various news outlets can’t even agree on the correct number. If the Chicago Tribune is to be believed, it’s probably around 17 homicides – including two children – plus 63 others shot, with most occurring in areas widely known for gang violence. In New York City, shootings are up 142% for the week ending July 5th versus the same ... Read more »

Mixed Results From the Supreme Court This Week

| Posted in Blog

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court delivered two decisions that were very important. I believe one was outstanding, while another was terrible. === GOOD NEWS FIRST === There was a BIG win yesterday for religious schools, and those who value religious liberties and our First Amendment. Back in 2015, Montana established a program that provided a tax credit for those parents who wanted to send the... Read more »

They Will Have My Support and Respect

Incredibly, calls to “defund the police” are actually gaining traction in dozens of cities with far-left local governments. For example, the Minneapolis City Council voted to eliminate their police department, but still hasn’t identified how citizens will be kept safe. New York City is taking steps to cut over $1 billion from its police, with similar efforts now underway in cities like Baltimore, ... Read more »

On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) led over 60 members of Congress in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr calling for an update on the 2017 investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) into the alleged monetization of human fetal tissue by Planned Parenthood.
