Same Sham, Different Committee

This week, the 3+ year effort by Democrats to remove President Trump from office shifted over to the House Judiciary Committee, where their impeachment sham will continue.

Remember up until now, Adam Shiff (D-CA) and anti-Trump Democrats on the Intelligence Committee have been conducting their twisted version of an impeachment inquiry. On Monday, Schiff issued a report with their “findings” (for lack of a better word), so now the circus moves over to Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, who will soon vote to send articles of impeachment to the full House.

Throughout this entire inquiry, we’ve heard from ambassadors, diplomats, and military officials. Not one of them was able to provide direct evidence that President Trump had ordered aid to Ukraine withheld in exchange for a political favor. For example:

  • Gordon Sondland, Ambassador to the European Union, is mentioned 611 times as a key witness in Adam Schiff’s report. Yet Sondland clearly stated in testimony before the Intelligence Committee that “other than my own presumption” no one told him that was the President’s intent or desire.
  • Diplomat Kurt Volker, who is mentioned 442 times in Schiff’s report, actually worked with both President Trump and Ukraine on matters of policy. Yet Volker testified that neither mentioned anything specific to him about a quid pro quo.

The list goes on, but every bit of "evidence" (again, for lack of a better word) is based on either presumption or hearsay. Neither of which justifies impeaching this president, or any president for that matter.

Just remember:

  1. We have the actual transcript of the call that started all this, which shows exactly what President Trump said.
  2. Ukrainian President Zelensky has repeatedly stated he was not under pressure and not aware of any strings attached to your tax dollars being sent to his country for foreign aid.
  3. Zelensky didn’t even know aid had been temporarily held up when he was on the phone with President Trump.
  4. In fact, aid was released without Ukraine having to launch any investigations or make any public statements.

Going forward, we can expect the Democrat-controlled House and Judiciary Committee to continue to tow their leadership’s marching orders on impeachment. Once it reaches the Senate for trial, however, this effort is almost certain to go down as an embarrassing failure for Democrats.
