An Ongoing Effort to Damage President Trump

The left’s contradictions on impeachment would be humorous if they weren’t so cynical.

Remember their rush in the House of Representatives to impeach President Trump? We were all told that this hearsay and speculation was an “urgent concern” and that there was “no time to waste.” So what happened after the fastest impeachment inquiry in U.S. history and a vote entirely along party lines?

Well, nothing happened! All the sudden this inauthentic sense of urgency disappeared, and for almost a month Nancy Pelosi refused to transmit the articles of impeachment over to the Senate for trial. Why? Because she knows this is a sham that will go nowhere in the Senate, but she was hoping a delay would create leverage over Senate leadership, and that they would agree to trial rules that would be unfavorable to the President.

After that effort failed, Mrs. Pelosi finally relented today and agreed to send the articles over to the Senate. In doing so, she named several “impeachment managers” who will present the House’s case to the Senate, nearly all of whom publicly supported impeachment before this charade even began. (Among them: Adam Schiff, who has lost all credibility here.)

Meanwhile, their latest talking point is that if the Senate only considers what the House Democrats put in their impeachment report, that’s tantamount to a “cover-up.” In other words, they want the Senate to call additional witnesses, search for additional information, etc. Do you see what’s happening here?

How is it possible that the Democrats’ case for impeachment in the House was so “convincing” that it warranted an urgent vote to impeach our President, but now that same evidence (for lack of a better word) is somehow insufficient for the Senate's trial? This is ridiculous.

Folks this entire spectacle is nothing more than an ongoing effort to damage President Trump, simply because he represents the biggest obstacle to their liberal political agenda. Nothing more, nothing less.
