Rep. Norman Issues Statement on USCP Officer Brian Sicknick

On Thursday, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) introduced a bill in the House that would allow USCP Officer Brian Sicknick to lie in honor at the U.S. Capitol. Also on Thursday, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) introduced the Senate's version of this bill.

On Friday evening, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Majority Leader Chuck Schumer agreed to bestow this honor upon Officer Sicknick.

Rep. Norman issued the following statement on Friday night:

"I received a flood of support yesterday after introducing the House bill to allow Officer Sicknick to lie in honor, which makes tonight's announcement by House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer welcomed news. I’d like to offer a big thanks to Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) for his partnership on this issue, and leading the charge over in the Senate to properly recognize the incredible bravery of Officer Sicknick, who gave his life in selfless defense of others. May God bless him, his family, and all those who serve with honor in law enforcement."
