EVERY BIT of the renewed problems along our southern border is the doing of Joe Biden and congressional Democrats. This is 100% on them. We are now facing the biggest surge of illegal immigration in the last 20 years, according to the Dept. of Homeland Security.
 

The resulting humanitarian crisis, the $86 million now being spent on HOTEL ROOMS for some detainees, the inundated Border Patrol, the deployment of federal emergency management personnel, the countless thousands of unaccompanied children, the rise in crimes attributable to this surge...

 
Every. Bit. Of. This. is a direct result of President Biden’s and congressional Democrat’s vision for immigration: which is (1) turn a blind eye to border security, (2) grant amnesty for breaking our immigration laws, then (3) offer a pathway to citizenship.
 

Last week, I voted against two amnesty bills in the House – see my earlier posts from March 16th or March 10th for details. But more of these efforts are on the way!!

 
Last month, a congresswoman from California introduced President Biden’s “U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021” that would literally codify a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Tens of millions of them. And it provides no meaningful efforts to secure the border! Since Democrats control the House, I expect this will soon make its way through committee and to the House floor for a vote.

 
I’ll say it again: amnesty, permanent residency, and a pathway to citizenship are not rational solutions to our immigration problems, unless you hope to use illegal immigrants for political gain and their votes down the road.
 

What we need is legislation to (1) secure our border, while at the same time (2) prevent asylum claims from being abused, (3) enable businesses to legally hire workers when they cannot find willing Americans, and (4) pressure Central and South American countries to get their house in order and take care of their own citizens. Anything short of this irresponsible.
