U.S. Congressman Ralph Norman is pleased to announce that the City of Rock Hill has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant of $312,492 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This grant will provide flexible funding to help the city government provide various programs and services it deems necessary to help address the local impacts of COVID-19.

As part of the CARES Act stimulus packaged that was passed by Congress last week, HUD has the authority to distribute up to $12.4 billion to help state and local governments.  The majority of these funds are being distributed through various grant programs, and the City of Rock Hill was part of HUD's first round of grant awards.

In response to HUD's grant to the City of Rock Hill, Rep. Norman issued the following statement:

"COVID-19 has placed lives at risk, sent our economy into a spiral, put tremendous strain on our nation’s healthcare systems, and cost millions of Americans their jobs. While the federal government has a significant role to play in our response and recovery, I'm pleased to see funds directed towards the state and local levels to help address the impacts of this pandemic.  In time, and with God's help, our nation will get through this and be stronger on the other side."
